 My Native Village
The name of my village is Rupganj. It is a very old, silent and peaceful village. It is situated on the bank of a big canal. It is about two miles long and half-a mile wide.

The village is under Rupsha Upazila in the district of Khulna. It is only one mile away from the Upazila.

More than twelve thousand people live in our village. Most of them are Muslims. The second majority people are Hindus. A few Christians also live here.

The people of our village are engaged in various occupations. But most of them earn their livelihood by agriculture. Educated people serve in offices and factories. A few people are working in foreign countries.

The communication system of our village is very easy. A narrow brick-built road runs through the village to the Upazila. Rickshaw, Van etc. ply on the road. There are some muddy roads in the village which become muddy during the rainy season.
The natural scenery of our village is very charming. There is a market, a primary school, a high school, a union council, a post-office, a madrasah, a temple, five mosques, an agricultural bank, five tube-wells and an edge in our village. Village boys and girls get proper education from these schools. Boys play various games in the school fields in the afternoon. The village sits daily in the morning for selling fish, milk, vegetables etc. It also sits twice a week in the afternoon. People buy their necessary things from the hat.
The climate of our village is suitable for health. There is no brick-field in our village. The southern and northern sides of the village are open. So, the villagers get fresh and oxygen air. There is no scarcity of pure drinking water here. So, the villagers are passing healthy and active lives.

Most of the villagers are pious and simple. The villagers are fully free from litigation. There are arrangements of village fair, jari, circus etc. in our village. On the whole, our village in an ideal village.
